Koroleva Inessa

Designer, decorator, artist, computer graphics and design specialist. Inessa Koroleva lives in Moscow, teaches at the "Details" school (Moscow), one of the famous schools of designers and decorators in Russia.
My name is Inessa. Inessa Koroleva. I am from Siberia by birth
From those places where birches so white like snow. Where winter lasts longer than spring, summer and fall together. Where you can taste the spring birch sap. Where the fields and meadows of wild flowers grow and where the forest starts from the porch of my parents' house.
In my land of birch bark - is not just a piece of wood, this is the so-called Russian papyrus and traditional material for fairy boxes, tueski and souvenirs.
My favorite artist’s material has become the trademark of Russia.
Not long ago. I came across the idea that there were clichés and stereotypes about Russian souvenirs and traditional art over the years: Gzhel, Matryoshka, Khokhloma.
Time is changing. Changing tastes and preferences. But, love to my origin remains.
I wanted to show the beauty of birch bark, its palette, and texture, pattern on the bark in a new light, style and image. Show that the traditional materials can be up to date, relevant and serve as an excellent tool for expressing thoughts and feelings of the author.
Have you noticed that different trees different "life" marks?
Some are happy, others are sad.
My pictures shapes are playful, reckless, the philosophical and thoughtful, sometimes even mystical.
What will you choose? What a fairy tale or a mystical story, you will take with you? And, maybe, you select a picture with a secret code and try to find secret clues?
Celtic, north-german and north-russian ornaments, runes, myths, and fairy tales inspire me. Works on birch bark of folk masters of the north of Russia, Scandinavian countries.
It is your choice!
I will help you creating a new picture with new prompts or mystical revelation, and, perhaps, a new fairy tale!
